Shannon Poarch—Director of Student Ministries
Shannon became a part of the Ovilla UMC family in December 2015 and oversees 6th through 12th grade students. She was born and raised in Grand Prairie, TX and loves to watch and play sports.
Shannon recently completed her Master of Christian Practice from Duke University and has a bachelor’s degree in Church Ministries from Southwestern A/G University in Waxahachie, TX. She and her husband, Jimmy Poarch, have one beautiful, energetic baby girl.
Shannon considers it a continuous blessing to share the love of God with others and to walk through life with students and families. She's been in ministry since she was 19 years old with majority of the time being in student ministries. And one of the greatest things of being a student minister for Shannon is getting to see milestones and dreams of students fulfilled as they continue to grow with God.
