The OUMC 22nd annual golf tournament will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 with a Shotgun Tee-Off at 8:00am at the Old Brickyard Golf Club in Ferris, Texas. This is an open tournament and the public, as well as members, guests, and their families are cordially invited to play. The format will be a scramble with teams of four. Admission will be $65.00 per person, payable in advance. Mulligans will be sold prior to Tee-Off for $5 each. Other “Golf Indulgences” will be offered as well.
Registration will begin on August 25th. Tournament entry forms are avilable in the OUMC church foyer or can be downloaded here. They should be filled out and submitted in advance to the church office or in the offering plate with accompanying payment. All personal checks should be made payable to OUMC or Ovilla United Methodist Church and clearly marked “Golf Tournament.” If you do not have a team of four, just sign up individually, or in pairs, etc.; and we will build a team, or place you on a team.
You must bring golf clubs with you, or rent clubs from the Old Brickyard Golf Club, (972-842-8700) by calling the club in advance. We plan to have a pizza luncheon (included in the price) and an awards presentation at the Club patio immediately following the tournament. We plan to award trophies for members of the winning team. We will provide a cold bottle of water to each participant, but all other drinks and snacks (other than the post tournament meal) must be purchased from the Club. The Club will provide golf carts, range balls, and scorecards as part of your admission. Club rules prohibit bringing in food or drinks, including alcoholic beverages as prohibited by state law. The Club requires proper golf attire, including collared shirts, and proper golf etiquette on the course. No T-Shirts are allowed to be worn on the course, or in the clubhouse.
This is an OUMC Lord’s Acre Project; and we encourage your enthusiastic support and look forward to your participation. Contact Jim Turner or the Church office to turn in entry forms or if you have questions.
